After months of waiting, eventually, fans were given the first look at footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with the new trailer. Now check out the exciting footage above!
As the culmination of the Skywalker Saga, this upcoming movie, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, will be one of the most anticipated films of this year, as it’ll conclude a journey that kicked off with Star Wars: A New Hope more than 40 years ago. In addition to bringing an end to the Skywalker narrative, the film will also be the sendoff of new characters like Poe, Finn, and Rose as well as other beloved characters like Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca.
The adventure surely will be an emotional experience, not only due to the journeys of beloved characters but also seeing the late Carrie Fisher’s final involvement in the franchise. With the actress’ passing after filming The Last Jedi and with Leia Organa’s journey being left open at the end of that movie, fans were curious about how the journey would conclude in a satisfying way.
When the production began, director J.J. Abrams revealed that he would use the unseen footage from The Force Awakens to depict to the story of Leia.
“We loved Carrie Fisher desperately,” J.J. Abrams shared in a statement. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to this Skywalker Saga without her eluded us. But we were never going to recast or use a CGI character. And with the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we’ve found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and her role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we had shot together in Episode VII.”
Other returning cast members include Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, and Billie Lourd.
Star Wars: Episode IX will also see the debut of Richard E. Grant and Naomi Ackie in the galaxy far, far away. Franchise veterans Mark Hamil and Anthony Daniels will also reprise their roles of Luke Skywalker and C-3PO respectively, with the new film seeing the return of Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian for the first time since the 1983’s Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker lands in theaters on December 20.
J.J. Abrams Confirms Emperor Palpatine Will Return in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”
Official news. The uncanny, haunting cackle at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker teaser trailer does indeed confirm that Emperor Palpatine is back. And J.J. Abrams could not be happier that the big reveal was not spoiled beforehand.
Recently, after the panel at Star Wars Celebration, the co-writer and director of Star Wars: Episode IX spoke with editor James Dyer of Empire Magazine, confirming that actor Ian McDiarmid will be back for the final entry in this Skywalker Saga.
In case there’s any lingering ambiguity from the trailer (and McDiarmid’s appearance at the panel!), I can 100% confirm that Palpatine is back in The Rise Of Skywalker as I just asked JJ. He’s thrilled – and slightly incredulous- that McDiarmid’s presence on set didn’t leak. pic.twitter.com/qDzPQagXSW
— James Dyer (@jamescdyer) April 12, 2019
The fact that such a huge secret was kept from Star Wars fans is no small feat, especially in this age of many spoilers dominating discussion on social media. However, with McDiarmid set to reprise his role as Emperor Palpatine, the speculation engines will start revving up.
Ian McDiarmid himself appeared on stage at the end of the trailer, leaving little doubt to his involvement after Emperor Palpatine’s iconic laugh closed out the trailer. The actor, in his gravely Darth Sidious voice, simply declared, “Roll it again,” prompting cheers from the audiences before the trailer played once again.
Still, we have no idea why the Sith Lord has returned, but we will probably learn more in the forthcoming months leading up to the film premiere.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will also bring back a classic convention from the franchise, making use of the time jump between movies once again. Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the only movie in the saga to begin moments after the previous film ended.
“The movie does not pick up immediately after the last film,” J.J. Abrams previously said during the panel at Star Wars Celebration. “Some time has passed. The movie is an adventure the group goes on together. And one of the great things about getting to work on this movie is the dynamic between all the characters. They are amazing together, and it is something I’m excited for you all to see.”
You can check it out in the video below.
We will find out more about Emperor Palpatine’s return as we are getting closer to the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker release date, which premieres in theaters later this December.
“Star Wars:” New Video Reveals How Many Times the Force is Mentioned
If you are a fan of Star Wars, you know there is one thing that binds everything together: the Force. The energy filed used by the Jedi that’s created by all living things is an important staple in the franchise. So it is no surprise that the movies mention the name a lot. However, a recent video from YouTube channel Star Wars Kids has shown us exactly what “a lot” really means.
You can watch the full video below.
According to the Star Wars Kids, the Force is mentioned 161 times in the Star Wars movies. Based on that, Solo: A Star Wars Story is the only film that does not mention the Force at all. Then Attack of the Clones has the least amount of mentions that comes in at 9. Meanwhile, Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens both drop the name ten times. The Phantom Menace and The Last Jedi follows with 14 times. As for The Empire Strikes Back, the movie mentions the Force 16 times. Revenge of the Sith is next with 20 times, and A New Hope 22 times. Surprisingly, the winner of the term is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which mentions the Force 46 times!
Star Wars By the Numbers is, in fact, a common series segment from Star Wars Kids.
It’s a “YouTube channel for fans to share the Star Wars stories,” as described. They have counted many things in the movies, including every hyperspace jump, lightsaber ignitions, and even Yoda’s grunts, giggles, and groans. If you would like to see Star Wars Kids count something else from the franchise, head on over to the video and let them know in the comments.
Star Wars Kids is an official account from Disney. The channel has other themed videos, including a series of animated shorts called Galaxy of Adventures alongside a series devoted to fun facts. You can also learn more about them on their website.
Thankfully, there is tons of fun Star Wars content to enjoy online while fans still eagerly await news about Star Wars: Episode IX. The title remains a mystery, but other small details of the film have been trickling in. That included a rumored BB-8 sidekick, the debut of a new stormtrooper, and the potential involvement of the Knights of Ren.
Star Wars: Episode IX stars returning Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Issac, Domhnall Gleeson, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, and Billie Lourd. New cast members are Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell, and Richard E. Grant. Alongside Mark Hamill, the returning veteran actors also include Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams. According to the Star Wars official website, Leia will be featured in the movie using unreleased footage of Carrie Fisher from The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: Episode IX expectedly hits theaters on December 20.
“Star Wars: Episode IX” Director J.J. Abrams Announces the Filming Has Wrapped
Now Star Wars fans can start to get excited about learning something officially, anything, about Star Wars: Episode IX. Director J.J. Abrams eventually posted to Twitter, announcing that filming has officially wrapped.
“It feels impossible. But today wrapped photography on Star Wars: Episode IX. There’s no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I am forever indebted to you all,” he wrote.

J.J. Abrams made the announcement via his Twitter, including a brand new photo of the Sequel Trilogies principal trio (Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega) in a poignant embrace. Since this is the first real look at Star Wars: Episode IX’s lead characters (Rey, Finn, and Poe), fans will no doubt be combing over every detail of the setting and costumes, looking for any clues. Still, the biggest hint of all will now (hopefully) will be coming soon: the official title of Episode IX! A recent rumor also pointed to its footage already being shipped to theaters. And that rumor suddenly seems much more credible now.
Now, here is the full cast list for Star Wars: Episode IX, which previously was released by Lucasfilm.
Returning cast members of Episode IX include Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Marie Tran, Billie Lourd, and Joonas Suotamo. Joining the cast are Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant, who will be joined by veteran Star Wars actors including Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.
Once again, the role of Leia Organa will be played by Carrie Fisher, previously using unreleased footage shot for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” Abrams says. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We’re never going to recast or use CG character. With the blessing and support from her daughter, Billie, we’ve found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and her role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
Composer John Williams, who has scored every chapter in the Star Wars saga since 1977’s A New Hope, will return to the galaxy far and far away with Episode IX.
Star Wars: Episode IX will be produced by J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, and executive produced by Jason McGatlin and Callum Greene.
Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20 this year.
Disney is Officially Stopping Marvel Films On Netflix, Starting with Captain Marvel
We all knew the day was coming as Disney would end its long-running partnership with the streaming giant, Netflix.
Officially bad news, guys. That day is now.
Since Mickey Mouse gears up for the release of its own streaming service, Disney Plus, the conglomerate has announced that forthcoming Captain Marvel will be the first Marvel Studios film not coming to Netflix, alongside its other 2019 releases.
According to a report, cutting ties with Netflix will apparently lose the House of Mouse a whopping $150 million in operating income. Though, there is no doubt that the studio giant will make money up in other ways, especially from its own streaming launch, expected to arrive sometime later this year.
Recently, speaking during an investor’s conference, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the upcoming female-fronted standalone would not be popping up in your Netflix trending queue any time soon.
“What we are basically trying to do here is invest in our future,” he stated.
However, he clarified that these decisions are “all designed so that long-term this business will become an important part of Disney’s bottom line.”
So, despite the moves Disney has made are going to cost a fair sum, the company expectedly will make miles more with the launch of Disney Plus.
“It is almost the equivalent of deploying capital to build out our theme parks,” added Iger. “It is a bet on the future of this business.”
Meanwhile, spin-off shows for some of the MCU’s biggest superheroes and villains are still in the works for Disney+. There are already plans for Loki TV series alongside buddy shows for the likes of Falcon/Bucky Barnes, Rocket Raccoon/Groot and Scarlet Witch/Vision as well.
The House of Mouse is working hard behind-the-scenes to bring the highly anticipated Disney+ to life. As Disney brings its own back catalog as well as original content to the unique streaming service, Netflix is eventually being kicked to the bottom of the pile like a comic book villain.
Obviously, the era between Disney and Netflix is coming to an end.
The deal was signed back in 2012; it means that Netflix has handled the likes of the MCU and Star Wars from 2016 until now. While there was once a time, we could tune in and watch everything such as Marvel blockbusters from Iron Man to Captain America: Civil War, Thor to Avengers: Infinity War, Disney is now coming down hard on Netflix. We have already seen the casualties of the Fox/Disney merger and the introduction of Disney+. And since Netflix once made a name for itself with Marvel TV shows, the likes of Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage have all been axed; now the same fate is coming for Jessica Jones and The Punisher.
This also means that Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the final Marvel flick to be streaming on Netflix. In the meantime, Avengers: Endgame which rolls out less than two months after Captain Marvel, as well as Spider-Man: Far From Home will never come to this streaming platform. Alongside Marvel blockbusters, upcoming high-profile Disney flicks such as the live-action adaptations of their classic animated movies such as Tim Burton’s Dumbo, Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin, with Jon Favreau’s The Lion King, Pixar’s Toy Story 4, and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Episode IX will not also be arriving on Netflix.
With a packed film line-up, it makes sense why Disney is ending their working relations with Netflix this year.
While two of their biggest franchises are wrapping up their current narratives in MCU and Star Wars, both Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: Episode IX are all expected to become massive blockbuster hits. This means that offering them on Disney+ will be a great way to lure potential patrons.
Furthermore, the impending Fox acquisition more likely bolstered their confidence that Disney+ will work considering that it significantly pads their content catalog. Though it remains unseen whether or not Disney+ will be an immediate hit, that initial $150 million loss may not even matter much if the service takes off.
Disney+ is set to premiere by the end of 2019. In the meantime, Captain Marvel coming out March 8 will be the first film held back from Netflix and instead ticketed for Disney+.
Other upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films will be hitting theaters, including Avengers: Endgame on April 26, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5.

Mark Hamill Trolls Fans Wanting “Star Wars: Episode IX” Trailer During Super Bowl With “Futurama” Reference
During the last Super Bowl, most Star Wars fans had ruled out learning any information about Star Wars: Episode IX, though others held out hope that it would be delivered a surprise. In classic Mark Hamill fashion, the actor posted to Twitter, reminding his fans that one scene in Futurama previously “revealed” the upcoming film’s title.
Disappointed there was no #StarWars trailer shown during the #SuperBowl? Agonizing over how long you'll have to wait until they drop the title? RELAX nerds! #Futurama predicted it years ago & we all know: Cartoons. Never. Lie. EXCLUSIVE BREAKING "NEWS": #EpIXYodasBarMitzvah pic.twitter.com/oR12BYfNPK
— Mark Hamill (@HamillHimself) February 4, 2019
From there, Mark Hamill teased, “Disappointed there were no Star War trailers shown during the Super Bowl? Agonizing over how long you will have to wait until they drop the title? RELAX nerds! Futurama predicted it years ago, and we all know: cartoons. Never. Lie. EXCLUSIVE BREAKING ‘NEWS’: Episode IX: Yoda’s Bar Mitzvah.”
In addition, Mark Hamill shared a photo of the scene in which the animated series referenced the upcoming film. He also included various edited images of what Yoda might look like while attending such a ceremony.
Though this clearly was a joke on Mark Hamill’s part, the amount of speculation surrounding the title over the years will not have us surprised. And when the title is revealed, we learn that an obscure corner of pop culture had already predicted that title exactly.
However, this is just the latest in a long line of intentional misdirects from Mark Hamill. It’s likely an attempt to preemptively refute any possible details he might unintentionally reveal about the film. Not only do these teasers offer an opportunity to mess with his fans, but if anything he accidentally spoils any actual details, Hamill can always claim he was merely joking.
Since the first Star Wars film, things have changed a lot in the realm of secrecy. Mark Hamill was previously pointing out just how little security there was around that film’s script.
“I remember when I read the first Star Wars [script], I was like, ‘Wow, that is the goofiest thing I have ever read.’ Then I gave it to my best friend to read; I said, ‘What do you think of it?’ And he said, ‘It is really wild. It is crazy. Can I give it to Meredith?’ so I said, ‘Sure, go ahead.’” Mark Hamill recalled to Entertainment Weekly. “It went around to all my friends. Of course back then nobody cared. But nowadays it is like working for some secret deep state government organization, like being in the CIA. They are going to send rewrites over to Prague on this dark red paper that gives you a headache to read.”
Stay tuned for upcoming details about Star Wars: Episode IX! The film premieres in theaters this December.
Star Wars Franchise May Have Created a Big Marvel Cinematic Universe Paradox
The various movie and TV projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe tend to walk a fine line between fantasy and real-world events. References to the real-life figures, trends, or pop-culture milestones always carries a potential danger of fixing an MCU project to a time and place that does not quite sync with other projects in the universe.
However, in the case of Sony and Marvel’s rebooted Spider-Man movie franchise, there is one reference that now has fans buzzing about a major potential paradox now does exist in the MCU.
Especially, if Star Wars exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what will Peter Parker think when he meets Mace Windu? To be clear, it seems quite obvious that the person who posted this on Reddit was doing so in jest. And that is how many fans have taken it.
Still, like anything about the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the Internet, this little Star Wars “plot hole” or “paradox” nonetheless has inspired some serious debate about the merits of the observation. Some fans also argue that it’s an oversight to have Peter Parker and Ned be so obsessed with Star Wars. Obviously when they’ll be interacting with one of the main stars of the prequels soon.
Furthermore, the only thing that Spider-Man: Homecoming confirmed is that Star Wars as a franchise and the Death Star do exist in the MCU. As some other fans point out, there is no evidence that the MCU Star Wars has the same storyline and cast that exists in the real world. To this point: Samuel L. Jackson is Nick Fury in the universe. And there is zero evidence that an actor named Samuel L. Jackson exists in the MCU.
If nothing else, it’d be great if director Jon Watts leans into this so-called plot hole, including a winking bit of dialogue about it in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home. That’s something like Tom Holland’s Peter Parker meeting Nick Fury, then asking Samuel L. Jackson, “Haven’t I seen you in a movie?”
Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War is already available on home video.
Other upcoming Marvel Studios films include:
- Captain Marvel on March 8
- Avengers: Endgame on April 26
- Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5.
Elon Musk Posts Photo From the Set of “Star Wars: The Mandalorian”
We already knew that Elon Musk was the one pushing technology to its limits. Yet it seems that he might have met his match with the tech from a galaxy war, far away. Recently, the SpaceX CEO shared a photo of a visit to the set of Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
Host meme review? pic.twitter.com/k2SFtIUh1k
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 27, 2019
Over on Twitter, the tech mogul posted a photo, inciting speculation that he could be wielding some device he had developed. However, the background of his picture looked familiar to his followers. Especially it resembled something found in Star Wars as opposed to his laboratories.
Shortly after, the producer of The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau also shared a photo of the two together. He seemingly confirmed that Elon Musk merely dropped by the set of the live-action Star Wars series.
The filmmaker also added the caption, “Discussing hyperdrive technology on set.” Given the various ways Elon Musk has pushed space exploration further, we will not be surprised if Musk offered real-world insight into how the technology could work in the series.
Furthermore, the friendship between Elon Musk and Jon Favreau goes back many years. As Musk had his cameo in Iron Man 2, which starred and was directed by Favreau. Elon Musk is only one of many recognizable people to have dropped by the set of the series. So we shouldn’t count on him actually appearing in Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
In this new series, after the stories of Boba Fett and Jango, another warrior emerges in the universe of Star Wars.
“Star Wars: The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and also before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of the lone gunfighter in outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic,” reads the synopsis.
The series stars Pedro Pascal (Narcos), alongside Gina Carano (Deadpool), Emily Swallow (Supernatural). Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Carl Weathers (Predator). Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), and Nick Nolte (Warrior).
All the Marvel, DC, Disney, and Star Wars Films Releasing in 2019
The last 2018 was a huge year for movies, especially when it comes to franchises and studios that comic fans adore. Disney, Sony, Fox, Paramount, Marvel Studios, and Warner Bros. all put out big films in the last year. But it appears that 2019 will become even bigger. In the meantime, we have got all the films you need to mark your calendars for in this one handy place.
Before we get to 2019 though, the studios all put some great movies just in December alone, which was packed with geeky goodness. If you are a superhero movie fan, you got Aquaman and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. As for fans of Disney, then you got Emily Blunt’s Mary Poppins Returns. And if you are a Transformers fan, Bumblebee was right up your alley, making it quite a month for fans.
In speaking of recent Aquaman, Warner Bros. only put out one DC film this year, but boy did they make it count. The blockbuster Aquaman has already sailed past the $1 billion marks worldwide and is already to the top-grossing DC movie ever. However, that is not a shabby way to end the year. And in 2019, DC is upping the ante with two films on the slate.
Meanwhile, Marvel Studios had the incredibly successful Avengers: Infinity War earlier this year. The film surpassed the $2 billion mark and expectedly stays the same for the even more anticipated Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Actually, Marvel Studios has two movies coming out during the first half of the year, while Sony is following up the massive success of Venom with a new Spider-Man movie.
As for the House of Mouse, it looks as if they’re going to dominate in 2019 just like they did in 2018, with three live-action remakes on the horizon as well as other anticipated projects, both in animation and live-action. So yeah, Disney is probably going to crush it, especially when you consider that whole Star Wars Episode IX is coming at the end of this year.
And 20th Century Fox will soon come home to Disney. However, before they’re completely moved over, Fox still has a few movies up their sleeves.
Now, scroll down 16 headlines to see all the Disney, Marvel, DC, and Star Wars films hitting in 2019!

Following the successful line of live-action films from Disney is Dumbo. The movie has Tim Burton putting his stylized touch on the beloved animated classic. If it is anything like the last several remakes of Disney, it should do quite well at the box office.

Shazam sets out to test the limit of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. Release Date: April 17
Following the events of 2019, Disneynature returns for the up-close look at Steve the Penguin and his other penguin pals in a gorgeous documentary about finding their love and fatherhood in the Antartic. The film expectedly brings us plenty of heart-tugging moments as a result.
Synopsis: “Disneynature’s all-new feature movie Penguins is a coming-of-age story about an Adelie penguin named Steve. He joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antartic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, and find a life partner to start a family. From the filmmaking team behind ‘Bears’ and ‘Chimpanzee,’ Disneynature’s ‘Penguins’ opens in theaters nationwide in time for the Earth Day 2019.”

Marvel fans have still been on pins and needles waiting to figure out if the superheroes can overcome Thanos’ decimation. And thankfully, the wait for it is not that much longer.
Release Date: May 24
Next up in the Disney’s live-action success in their remake of Aladdin, helmed by Guy Ritchie. Still, there is not a lot known about the film, though from its first trailer and photos, fans get an idea of how the cast will look in the fully realized version of Agrabah. Now we just wait to see if Will Smith’s Genie looks like blue, so we will have a much better idea of how this is shaping up.
Sypnosis: “Aladdin is an exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous, self-determined Princess Jasmine alongside the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, bringing his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port of the city of Agrabah. The movie is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s Aladdin.”

X-Men: “Dark Phoenix” International Trailer Officially Released
The 20th Century Fox has officially released a new international trailer for Dark Phoenix.
You can take a look below.
Dark Phoenix is the debut of director Simon Kinberg. He has said that he saw the film as the beginning of a new chapter for the X-Men movies franchise.
“I see it as a new chapter,” said Kinberg. “I also see it as taking the franchise in the different direction tonally. And that does not mean that the next one will have the same tone. It just means the next one can have a different tone. I’m thinking for many years. In the X-Men, Bryan [Singer] really transformed the superhero genre in 2000 – 2001 when the first one came out. That is almost 20 years ago. It was a long time ago. And at that time, superhero movies weren’t wildly popular, actually. There even had been a few failures in the mid-90s. And there had not been a lot of superhero movies too, if any, around that time, X-Men sort of was a revolutionary in its moment.
“But that’s 20 years ago. I think I felt like it’s time to really change the look, the feel, the tone, and the vibe of these movies. That does not mean this is the one going forward. It just means if it is me or whoever will direct the next one, you can make it different. You have to make it different.”
The director seems to feel like he has set up a very interesting new era for the X-Men film franchise.
From there, each movie can have a more distinct flavor to it, similar how Logan and Deadpool were made. And how the looming Fox & Disney deal and the X-Men’s presumed introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe affects that the future remains to be seen.
Simon Kinberg has spoken previously about the influence that Logan had on his approach to Dark Phoenix.
“The way that I wanted to make the movie was very different than the aesthetic of previous X-Men movies, which I have been very involved in and proud of,” he told Empire. “But I did want it to feel more naturalistic. I really wanted it to feel edgier, more handmade, and more real. I was so inspired by what James Mangold did with Logan. And I feel like if I could bring a measure of that aesthetic in the movie that all of the intergalactic and also larger-scale things happening in the film would feel more shocking, more realistic, more emotional. They would be grounded in some reality.”
Kinberg wanted Dark Phoenix to feel like a superhero movie, but still invoke the same tone and mood that were established in Logan and even, surprisingly, the Star Wars franchise.
“And so, all about the movie – from the costumes to the title card, the set design, and to the way the X-jet looks – all of that stuff is just more analog in a way,” Simon Kinberg said. “More like, well, let’s say, the original Star Wars movies. Not that analog, but the movies I grew up loving had this very gritty, edgy, cool, human feeling to them.”
