Marvel’ Stars Remembering Stan Lee After His Death at the Age 95

Today will be forever known as a tragic anniversary. Marvel creator Stan Lee has passed away at the age 95. Needless to say, the reactions to Stan Lee’s death have been pouring into the Internet from all over the world. That includes all the stars who own their massive career boosts to playing such amazing characters that were created and inspired by Stan “The Man” Lee.

Now, here is the (growing) list of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars who are posting messages of love, gratefulness, and remembrance in honor of Stan Lee.

1. The architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige, carries a lot of weight with his words.

2. Robert Downey Jr. actor became one of the biggest stars in the world, thanks to his character Iron Man and the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe it started. He shared a picture of the two together, writing “I own it all to you.”

3. Chris Evans, starring as Captain America, shared a particularly touching post to Twitter, showing his honor to Stan Lee.

4. Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man, also issued a statement via Instagram. The Marvel’s latest Spidey is taking the angle of the “luckiest to be here” because of Stan Lee. Having become a beloved character of the most famous superheroes in such a short time, he may be right.

5. Lou Ferrigno and Stan Lee were trying to bring Marvel Comics into live-action at a time before most of the MCU characters were even born. Obviously, Ferrigno has more reasons than most to miss the man he’s been friends with for decades.

As a success to both Lee’s creation and Ferrigno’s live-action legacy, Hulk’s Mark Ruffalo is also making his voice heard.

6. Tom Hardy is the latest star to bring some big success for Marvel, as Sony’s Venom continues breaking box office records. As it now stands, Venom may also be one of the last Stan Lee cameos. But fortunately, it’s not the last.

7. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool has been reaping the benefits on the screen after years of trying, fighting and pushing. He was sure to keep Stan Lee’s alive in his films.

9. Hugh Jackman, (ex) Wolverine, reached out and made sure the Fox Marvel movies that set the stage for the current MCU dominance.

11. Black Panther stars Winston Duke and Letitia Wright were the first representing for the World of Wakanda. The movie not only made them become worldwide stars but Stan Lee also boldly championing the black character many decades ago. That set up the opportunity for Black Panther to become the king of the box office.

12. Alongside Zoe Saldana playing Gamora, The Ant-man and the Wasp star shared more than thoughts and prayers.

Meanwhile, the Russo brothers, directors of the upcoming Avengers 4, posted a behind-the-scenes image of Lee, thanking him for “filling our childhoods with such joy.”

The various casts and crews of some of the most popular Marvel TV shows around all showed their respect for Stan Lee, as well.

Praise for Lee also came from outside those in the MCU.

Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a the Rock, posted a photo of himself clasping hands with the comics legend. It revealed that Lee gave the actor “some very sage advice” that he would forever take to heart.

Likewise, Lee’s longtime friend Kevin Smith posted a long tribute on Instagram, thanking Lee for his transformative influence in making Smith “the man [he is] today.”

Meanwhile, in the comics industry, DC Comics and Disney Chairman have also paid their tributes to the legendary creator of MCU.

Stan Lee, who was also famous for his cameos, will appear as an animated version of himself in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The legend had already filmed his cameo in Avengers 4 at the time of passing. Although Lee may have gone forever, his legacy will endure for generations to come. The final reaction to Lee’s passing that we are leaving below is heartbreaking. It’s an entirely black image that former Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada posted to his Twitter.

“Avengers: Endgame” Breaks Record for Biggest Opening Day Ever in China

The wait for Avengers: Endgame is finally over. The blockbuster is starting to trickle into theaters across the globe, giving Marvel fans the film they have been talking about for the past decade. While Endgame does not open in North America until Thursday night, it’s currently concluding its opening day over in China where it is delivering a massive haul. There will likely be several records broken by Avengers: Endgame over the next couple months, and it took just one day to check the first milestone off the list.

Avengers: Endgame has officially set the record for the biggest opening day in Chinese box office history.

According to early estimates from Deadline, the film has earned a whopping $107 million after debuting in China, including $28.1 million from midnight screenings. That also knocks off the previous champion Monster Hunt 2, which released last year.

At this rate, China will likely match, or possibly even surpass, the opening weekend haul for the United States. Initial estimates even suggested that Endgame could deliver an opening weekend between $250 and $280 million. However, these estimates are now starting to rise, with some believing it could reach the $300 million mark.

That is the goal for the United States opening weekend as well. Meanwhile, the current domestic opening record belongs to last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, which earned more than $257 million in its first three days. Avengers: Endgame will easily smash that mark when it arrives this weekend. Still, the only question remaining is just how far it can go.

Certainly, it helps Avengers: Endgame that the critical reviews have been so overwhelmingly positive early on. After the embargo lifted on Tuesday night, Avengers: Endgame quickly became Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a %97 score. It is a hit with critics as well as the box office, setting it up for a massive theatrical run.

So, how much do you think Endgame will make in the opening weekend? Could it pass Avatar and become the highest grossing movie of all time? Let us know in the comments!

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.

“Avengers: Endgame” Officially Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes

Earlier in the night, the reviews for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame started surfacing, and just like that, the movie has earned its first major distinction. Moments ago, Rotten Tomatoes announced that Avengers: Endgame was Certified Fresh at 98%, the same score it debuted with 85 reviews submitted. Since it has been Certified Fresh, the film has dropped 1% point, now hovering at 97% along with 89 reviews submitted as of this writing.

Out of those 89 reviews submitted, only three are “rotten.” There is one dissenting opinion that says the film is disappointing as a “direct result of Infinity War being so great” while others say the film is interrupted by “faux-improvised humor” throughout.

At 97% Certified Fresh, Avengers: Endgame is now tied with Black Panther for becoming the highest-rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the review-aggregating site. It is the 20th “Certified Fresh” film from Marvel Studios with the only two flicks not earning this honor include Thor: The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk.

Endgame is set to make unprecedented money at the box office, with some reports suggest the movie could earn upwards of $1 billion worldwide during its debut outing. Meanwhile, the current global opening record is held by Avengers: Infinity War, which made $647.5 in its opening weekend.

Entire “Avengers: Endgame” Film Leaks Online on Piracy Networks

We’re officially at Defcon 1 when it comes to Avengers: Endgame spoilers flooding the Internet. Not only has the movie now screened for the select press (people now living in the separate universe of spoilery details), but Endgame has also now leaked online, on several key piracy networks.

A new report digs into the incident, turning up that the leaked copy of Avengers: Endgame did come from a Chinese theatrical screening. At the time of writing this, Endgame has already had a record-breaking opening in China, so it means that there are literally hundreds of thousands of potential culprits, especially when it comes to who recorded the film and then uploaded it online.

Chinese users have been passing Endgame around in a 1.2G file along with peer-to-peer networks, and it has since made its way overseas to American torrent networks. Obviously, the exact links and locations to that file will NOT be posted here. However, before you are about to go looking (those few of you masochistic enough to do so), you definitely should be warned: you probably will not like what you find. All reports state that the version of Endgame that leaked is a pretty crappy one. As Variety reports:

However, per TorrentFreak’s report, the quality of that pirated copy is really bad. ‘The image constantly flickers throughout,’ the site quoted a source as saying. ‘It is semi-rotated and littered throughout with watermarks for a gambling site that spin around the screen.

Still, this is not the first big leak to hit Avengers: Endgame. In fact, last week, a 5-minute clip of spoilery Endgame footage hit the Internet and made big waves, as it was the first real insight into the movie that fans and industry figures had seen. Many fans swore off watching it, but as always, there were those shameless trolls that had to spread to footage around like they were that crazy dude in Bird Box, trying to make people see.

Throughout the onslaught of spoiler drops, Marvel Studios and Avengers: Endgame directors The Russo Brothers have steadily maintained the “#DontSpoilTheEndgame” mantra, constantly reminding viewers to preserve the experience for other Marvel fans. As the first Endgame early reactions from critics, the less you know about this film going in, the more epic the experience of seeing it. Take note!

Avengers: Infinity War is already available on home video. Captain Marvel is playing in select theaters. Avengers: Endgame premieres on April 26. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2.

“Avengers: Endgame” Box Office Projections Closing In On Record-Shattering, Near $1 Billion Global Launch

Big things are highly expected of Avengers: Endgame when the film finally hits theaters, including a monumental opening weekend at the box office. Endgame has already broken records in regards to advance tickets sales, which is even more impressive when you consider Infinity War’s impressive record-breaking status. Though Avengers: Endgame seemingly is poised to not just defeat Infinity War in advance ticket sales, but also in its opening weekend box office according to new projections.

These early projections are incredibly promising, as Endgame is expected to launch out of the gate with an $850 million worldwide box office in total (via The Hollywood Reporter). The movie is predicted to debut with $270 to $300 million domestically when it hits North America’s 4,600 theaters. If Endgame manages to land in that projected range (or even better), it’ll likely surpass a billion in just less than a week, which is honestly just crazy.

To put that into perspective, Avengers: Infinity War holds the biggest opening ever at $640.5 million as well as the biggest domestic opening with $257.6 million. Globally it does not even seem like a close race, as it’s also launching in China with the rest of the markets, unlike last year’s Infinity War. The upcoming Endgame is expected to premiere in China with around $250 million as compared to Infinity War’s $191 million. But we will wait and see if that actually happens.

Domestic though will be a closer race. That is because Endgame will have fewer showings than Infinity War did due to its increased run time. While Infinity War took 2 hours and 29 minutes, Endgame clocks in at 3 hours and 58 seconds. To be fair, we still do not think this will be much of an issue, but it might make the debuts much closer than expected.

Avengers: Infinity War ended up bringing in $2,048,359,754 billion at the box office once all was said and done. And Avengers: Endgame will likely exceed that number, though we are not sure by how much. If the flick is as good as early reactions are indicating, it should have no probable surpassing Infinity War.

Avengers: Endgame officially hits theaters on April 26.

“Avengers: Endgame” Cast Sings A Marvel Version of “We Didn’t Start The Fire” Featuring Stan Lee Tribute

Leading up to the forthcoming release of Avengers: Endgame in theaters, on Monday, the cast of this blockbuster stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to sing their iteration of “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” and it is about as glorious as you would expect. Doing the best cover of the Billy Joel 1989 history-filled hit, the majority of original Avengers – alongside new additions like Brie Larson, Danai Guira, and Paul Rudd – were on hand to send their hearts out.

Enjoy the comic strip mash-up above.

Last year, right before Avengers: Infinity War debuted, the cast also spoofed the classic Brady Bunch opening credits in a bit to hype the film. The video has since been viewed more than 21 million times. And this year on the show, with Avengers: Endgame about to smash into theaters, the cast parodied and danced to the tune of Billy Joel, turning it into a tribute to the late Stan Lee.

Just like last time, Robert Downey Jr. starring Iron Man leads the band. He sings lyrics like, “Tony Stark, Iron Man, Nick Fury has a plan.” Marvel villains also get their turn in the spotlight. Groot and Goose the cat nail their brief appearances which are especially good, yet the ending will have you saying “awww.” And the lump-in-throat moment comes at the end as the special tribute to Lee forms out of nowhere.

In a move that is sure to tug at the heartstrings of Marvel fans, the video finishes with a mosaic of Stan Lee. Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo previously confirmed that Lee’s cameo in this latest Avengers flick was the last one he filmed.

Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, with Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon).

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26.

First “Avengers: Endgame” Reactions Arrive Online

Earlier this evening, the highly-anticipated world premiere of Avengers: Endgame took place in Los Angeles, alongside the first reactions of the film have started flooding social media. As expected, the responses are overwhelmingly positive, with some even going the length of calling Endgame the best superhero film ever released.

Leading up to this weekend, various reports of suggested monstrous box office tracking amounts, with some analysts thinking the Marvel film could crack $300 million domestically during its opening weekend. The biggest domestic opening of all time currently belongs to last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, which brought $257 million over the course of its debut outing last May.

“It is unprecedented territory,” Boxoffice chief analyst Shawn Robbins expressed. “The numbers that are out floating round out there no matter where you look. It is on a level that I do not even think the most optimistic and/or sort of expected. It feels pretty reasonable, if there’s such a thing, to say that it will set a new record at this point.

Meanwhile, Brandon Davis from Comicbook also shared his feelings.

Avengers: Endgame is an astonishing and amazing film. I have never seen anything like it. The movie is everything I wanted to be and SO much more. Amazing.

While watching Endgame, I laughed so loud, then I clapped with so much force, and I cried so hard. This movie exceeds every expectation and is the perfect culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

“I just cannot remember a cinematic experience like the one I just had with Endgame. Simply blown away. I feel like the movie was made for every Marvel fan, everywhere.”

Fandango managing editor Erik Davis also said the film was really emotional, so get your tissues ready.

Avengers: Endgame is a masterful epic – a true culmination of 22 films that not only concludes the story but expands upon it. You will learn more about the other movies while this one unfolds. If Avengers: Infinity War is the brawn, Endgame is the brains. And wow, what an ending!

Do not go in expecting Infinity War part II. The two films are so different, yet compliment each other in all the best ways. In terms of which MCU film to watch beforehand… honestly, all of them. What an experience – what an accomplishment,” he wrote.

Not going to spoil anything at all, but I’ll say I laughed, I cried, I cried, I cheered, and I laughed, I cried again and the entire audience gave it a massive standing ovation. Then I cried again. Be ready, kids. Be. Ready.”

“Imagine the best possible version of Avengers: Endgame and somehow the film still surpasses all expectations. I cried 5-6 times. It is the most emotional and most epic MCU film. A tribute to 10 years of the universe and holy sh*t the great fan service in this movie. Sooooo good.” Peter Sciretta from SlashFilm also said.

Keep scrolling down to see what people are saying about Avengers: Endgame, which officially hits theaters on April 26.

And the last but not least, remember this.

So, how about you? Are you ready to see this Marvelous film?

“Avengers: Endgame” Estimated to Have Already Sold Over $120 Million in Presale Tickets

It is no secret by now that this weekend’s Avengers: Endgame is going to be a massive blockbuster at the box office. This culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is already prepared to smash several different records, including its opening weekend, and possibly the overall worldwide box office title. The film is poised to make all of the money. Actually, Endgame is already a box office behemoth in spite of not yet playing on a single screen. The presale tickets for this Marvel’s latest are absolutely staggering.

According to Deadline, recent sources are estimating that Avengers: Endgame has already sold more than $120 million in presale tickets across retailers as well as theater companies.

Meanwhile, other sources believe the number is even coming higher, potentially reaching the $140 million thresholds.

However, these numbers are not official by any means. And there’s no guarantee that all of the tickets already sold are for the movie’s opening weekend; however, this does align with similar situations at the box office. It was previously estimated that Star Wars: The Force Awakens had sold around $100 million in presales ahead of its debut back in 2015, and the movie went on to score $247.9 million in the opening weekend. Though that was the record at the time, now Avengers: Endgame is set to pass it this weekend, especially considering Marvel’s latest blockbuster has easily topped The Force Awakens in just presales.

As of now, it looks like Endgame could not only break last year’s Infinity War but could even become the first movie ever to make $300 million in its domestic debut. With that in mind, it is not a stretch to think Endgame could be the film that even takes out Avatar as the highest grossing film in Marvel history.

Following its debut back in 2009, James Cameron’s Avatar did ride the waves of groundbreaking visual effects and exceptional word of mouth, taking the top spot in the all-time box office rankings. According to Box Office Mojo report, Avatar earned a whopping $2,787,965,087 by the time it was all said and done. If there was ever a film to take out Avatar, it should be Avengers: Endgame.

So, have you already got your tickets for the forthcoming Avengers: Endgame? The film hits theaters on April 26!

Adidas x Marvel Release Sneaker Pack With Marvelous Characters

Marvel and adidas are collaborating on a new “Heroes Among Uscollection that combines the iconography of certain Avengers with NBA and WNBA stars. The collection features superstars like James Harden, Candace Parker, Damian Lillard, John Wall, and Tracy McGrady – bringing Marvel characters like Black Panther, Captain America, and Captain Marvel.

The Marvel x adidas superhero-inspired collection is just about ready to land in stores in just a few days. Recently, adidas has teased several new photos giving us some up-close look. And as we can see, they look out of this world.

Avengers: Endgame is just a few days away from making its debut, giving us hours of new content involving Earths Mightiest Heroes. If Captain America or Spider-Man is your favorite, then the coming week will bring something highly-anticipated.

The Marvel x adidas Pro Vision Captain Marvel shoes feature a red, blue, and yellow color scheme of the character with a white mid-sole. The heel has a mesh aesthetic, and the blue tongue is emblazoned with the ACE logo. Carol Danvers’s trademark Hala Star logo is featured above the toe box, alongside its laces which are all red. But it gets better when you flip the shoe over; you’ll notice the red, blue, and yellow colors also appear on the sole.

(Marvel’s Captain Marvel, Price: $110, Photo: adidas)

These Captain Marvel shoes look pretty slick to be sure. And while they do not go into Binary mode or come with Goose the cat, they really are the next best thing. The shoes are inspired by Captain Marvel x WNBA star Candace Parker.

Recently, Kicks on Fire reported on new details surrounding the N3XT L3V3L Captain America sneakers, which are the latest entry in Marvel x adidas “Heroes Among us” collection. According to the update, the $180 shoes will be available online and in select Adidas stores beginning on April 26, just in time for the premiere of Endgame.

(Marvel’s Captain America, Photo: adidas)

The particular Captain America shoes also draw inspiration from Washington Wizards player John Wall, with other collaborations including Black Panther x Damian Lillard, Iron Man x James Harden, Nick Fury x Tracy McGrady and Thor.

(Marvel’s Iron Man, Price: $150, Photo: adidas)

(Marvel’s Nick Fury, Price: $130, Photo: adidas)

The Captain America shoes come at a pretty interesting time for the character, as fans are not sure exactly what’s in store for Steve throughout the events of Endgame. With Chris Evans previously stating that he’s done (for now) with playing Captain America, it sounds like the film will bring sort of conclusion either way.

“I think our great discovery with the character was how much inner dimension that character ultimately has,” co-director Anthony Russo told Fandango. “And I think that is the journey that we went on with Chris as our partner and the writers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely as partners in terms of how we begin exploring Captain America starting with Winter Soldier. And it was important for us to find a way to involve them past that golden age character that First Avengers was very much about.”

“We wanted to challenge the character in ways where we could really see his cracks and find his vulnerability,” Russo continued. “While, certainly, his superpowers, moral fortitude and ability to be simple and dedicated to his principles, we really wanted to find a way to get past that with the character and take him into areas where he cannot find easy answers. So I think that was really what it was – the degree to which we could continue to explore this character is very complex humanity, vulnerability, and relatability to all of us. I think that is a great joy. You’ll see that very, very much in Endgame as well.”

Will you be picking up these Marvelous sneakers during Endgame’s debut this weekend? Share with us in the comments!

Captain Marvel is playing in select theaters still. Avengers: Endgame premieres on April 26, and Spider-Man: Far From Home officially arrives on July 2.

Marvel Studios Reportedly Introducing Body Positive Superhero Soon

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says a superhero with a less-than-perfect physique could reach the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than we think.

When News18 asked if Marvel would like to bring in superheroes who do not possess the ‘perfect figure,’” Kevin Feige said with a laugh. “Yes, I would, because maybe I can be a superhero.”

“Traditionally, if you look at the way they’re drawn in the comics, they go to very iconic mythic proportions,” Kevin Feige said of Marvel’s stable of superheroes. “We even happen to have many actors and actresses who have mythic proportions themselves for real, but I’ll just say yes and perhaps sooner than you think.”

The answers also come as Disney-owned Marvel Studios strives to “reflect audiences all over the globe” who have embraced the MCU, which has since found blockbuster success when diversifying with Black Panther, its first movie to feature a prominently black cast, and Captain Marvel, its first female-fronted movie.

“There’s no official update, but we want our films to reflect the world and reflect audiences all over the globe who are cheering for our movies. We also want them to see themselves up there,” said Feige. “In the comic books, there’re a lot of characters and opportunities to do that.”

(In the Marvel Comics, Bertha Crawford is a plus-size mutant superhero who has operated as a member of the Great Lakes Avengers under the superhero name “Big Bertha.” Photo: Marvel.)

With Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe inching ever closer, and in better reflecting wider audiences, diverse characters like Shang-Chi – Marvel’s first leading Asian-America superhero – will find their ways to the big screen, alongside lesser-known characters such as the Eternals, also poised for a big screen bow in the coming years.

“I think every film that we do is a risk. We just want to do movies that people to think are risks. Doing the story of an Asian-America hero of Chinese heritage is something very intriguing to us. It’ll be really different and special,” Kevin Feige said when asked if Shang-Chi is viewed as a risky project.

However, Feige ultimately appeared optimistic at the prospect of international audiences responding to this Asian lead.

“I hope that audiences around the world respond to it in the same way they did to Steve Rogers whether they have an American flag or not. It is about the individual storyline, spectacle and adventure that come with Marvel Studios movies.”

Marvel Studios next releases Avengers: Endgame on April 26.
