Spider-Man: Homecoming only briefly featured Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben, without confirmation about what did happen to the character and the connection with his nephew. One fan claims that the events of Avengers: Endgame will lead to Tony Stark effectively filling the void of that iconic relationship.
Over on Reddit, one user predicts how Stark would fill that role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First of all, it seems to be based on how important the father-son dynamic between the two characters already is. Stark did know about Peter’s abilities. He also gave Peter some advice on how to become the best that he can be. Clearly, there are already some dramatic differences between Tony Stark and Uncle Ben, yet there are some other ways in which Stark could become a defining figure for Parker in perpetuity.
In many incarnations of Spider-Man lore, Peter was in a situation where he pursued a petty task which inadvertently led to Ben’s demise. Before his passing, Uncle Ben instilled in his nephew Peter that “with great power comes great responsibility.” Most likely as to avoid depicting Ben’s death for the third time in a live-action movie, Ben was only mentioned as having passed, without Peter elaborating on the impact he had on his life. It’s evident he was an important figure. However, we did not know if Spider-Man was at all connected to Ben’s passing.
There is another prevailing theory about Avengers: Endgame.
It’s that original Avengers members will have to sacrifice themselves, allowing new characters to become major players in the MCU. This means Peter Parker could force himself to choose either saving Stark or saving others, with Stark possibly sacrificing himself. Moreover, Tony Stark could be out of the MCU. And his final moments would instill in Parker a new outlook with regards to his abilities and how he uses them.
Meanwhile, other theories have appeared since the Avengers: Infinity War release. That involved a fatal sacrifice, most likely as a tribute to the Soul Stone. As Thanos procuring the gem, he had to sacrifice Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone. Then he was able to construct the Infinity Gauntlet. Likewise, Avengers: Endgame could see Stark in a similar situation. Peter may have to decide to sacrifice someone to help save the universe.
So do you think Tony Stark will become the new “Uncle Ben”? We will find out what’s in store for the MCU when Avengers: Endgame hit theaters on April 26th, 2019.
Robert Downey Jr. Breaks the Internet With BFFs Iron Man and Captain America Image
It seems that there is nothing sweeter than the love between the two stars, especially when they are a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Take a look below.
— Robert Downey Jr (@RobertDowneyJr) March 13, 2019
“BFFs let you share their umbrella, right @ChrisEvans?,” wrote Downey Jr.
As you can see above, the actor included a photo of Cap protecting Tony with his shield. Oh, we love their friendship, on screen and off!
Shortly after that, his Avengers: Endgame co-star Chris Evans chimed in with his adorable response.
Technically it’s YOUR umbrella. But I’m happy to hold it. https://t.co/tFqWFqCSv3
— Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) March 13, 2019
Meanwhile, there are still many great responses from fans, who were obviously delighted by this viral content.
“How friggin cute!” @RavenFyre143 re-tweeted.
One fan even posted an adorable photo of some Avengers toys actually sharing an umbrella.
That they do. 😍❤️ pic.twitter.com/DT8R397YAZ

We all love seeing cheery posts from the Avengers: Endgame cast, especially since many fans are expecting the upcoming film will have some dark twists. Also, there has been a lot of speculation on whether Tony and Cap would survive. In fact, there was even a poll to see who fans would rather keep between the two if they only got to choose one. The final results were fairly close so far, and many folks felt so hard for their choices, though, but Iron Man won out in the end.
While this was definitely such a tough call to make, many fans theorize that Captain America lost the vote because more theories and rumors are circulating that Chris Evans won’t be returning, especially since the actor sent an ominous goodbye tweet back in October. Also, there are multiple theories about Cap floating around from tragic to bittersweet. However, the Avengers co-director even added more confusion when he said that Chris Evans would not be finished in the MCU after all, pointing toward events of the upcoming crossover film. So, it seems that Chris Evans might have a bit more left to do with his Captain America.
We will find out what happens to Cap and Iron Man when Avengers: Endgame premieres in theaters on April 26.
Other upcoming MCU film includes Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5.
In the meantime, Captain Marvel is currently playing in theaters.
Robert Downey Jr. Jokes Chris Evans as His Prince Charming with the Disney Meme
It has been years since Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have properly shared the screen in Marvel film. But now, a new meme reunites the fan-favorite pair in a pretty amusing way.
Earlier this week, Robert Downey Jr. shared a meme of photos of himself and his buddy Chris Evans. In the picture, their outfits happen to match up with the costumes for Disney’s Snow White and Prince Charming. After the meme garnered a lot of attention from Marvel fans, Chris Evans took a response rather pretty hilariously, joking that he turned the series of photos into his new screensaver and headshot.
Well I don’t know how you keep nailing these, but thank you for my new screensaver. And headshot. How do I make this my ringtone? https://t.co/eXGKmUyLiN

The characters of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Chris Evans (Captain America) famously faced off in the Civil War, ultimately leading them still not interacting in Avengers: Infinity War. While it is unclear what is happening for the upcoming Avengers: Endgame, obviously a reunion between the two would have some interesting ramifications.
“What is interesting about these characters is that they are all heroes,” co-director Joe Russo explained in the film’s commentary track. “And that, irrespective of the events of [Captain America:] Civil War and the fact that they caused physical damage to Rhodey [War Machine] when aliens show up with the intent to destroy the Earth, he doesn’t hesitate, as a superhero, to invite in other superheroes who can help him defend the planet. And I think it’ll be a much different situation if Tony [Stark] were here. If Tony and Steve [Rogers] had to see each other for the first time, it would be much more complicated.”
“Tony is too intelligent and has too big of an ego to be a stooge to the government,” noted Russo. “He’ll take whatever by-product came out of Civil War then use it to his own advantage, keeping the Avengers alive in a way that he feels like is less the compromise, the better for him. So, I think he’s not been actively pursuing bringing Steve, Natasha, Sam, and Wanda to justice. In fact, he has been turning the other way.”
In the meantime, other Marvel Cinematic Universe films will be hitting theaters.
Robert Downey Jr. Wishes Fans a Merry Christmas In the Iron Man Way
While Tony Stark seems pretty busy during the Holiday season, Robert Downey Jr. still makes his time to wish everyone a Marvelous Christmas.
Recently, the Iron Man actor took to social media, wishing everyone an “Avengery” Christmas. He posted a classic image of Iron Man in full armor making his best Santa Claus impression, complete with gifts. Robert Downey Jr. also wrote a message “Merry Christmas from the man in the big red suit!”
You can see the image below.

It remains unknown if Robert Downey Jr. returns as Iron Man, as his contract is up after his work on Avengers: Endgame. When asked about the future of his character, he learned not to worry about it too much thanks to his wife Susan Downey, who told him “you do not know what or how you are gonna end until it is.”
“That takes a lot of the edge off,” Robert Downey Jr. told Empire. “She has learned how to be like, “You will not know until you are there. So you are wasting your time on that equation. That is not on the test.”
“I could project all kinds of stuff. I could get into the black dog. Whatever you want,” he added, teasing a continued tenure: “Or I could stay, spiking it in the end zone until I’ve to be carried off. I am looking forward to whatever resolutions is in the cards.”
We will have to wait and see what he makes his decision. But at least we know that we’ll get to see him one more time in upcoming Avengers: Endgame. From there, he will be uniting with the remaining Avengers, plus the new addition Captain Marvel to take on Thanos and attempt to return the world to the way it was before the Decimation.
Meanwhile, the odds are definitely stacked against them. Even so, you should never count the Avengers out.
Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Don Cheadle (War Machine), and Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon).
Captain Marvel launches on March 8th, 2019. Avengers: Endgame follows on April 26th, 2019. And Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres on July 5th, 2019.
Guess What? If You Google ‘’Billionaire’, the First Photo is of Tony Stark
Have you ever taken to Google while curious about billionaires in the world? If you have, you will know that the image choice for the word is pretty hilarious. If you have not, don’t worry… that’s why Reddit exists.
One user, /u/Kowalski_analysis_y, was having their normal day of googling when they discovered something wonderful, which they shared to the /r/marvelstudios subreddit. Here is what you see when you Google “billionaire.”
“Just realized that when you type billionaire into Google, it gives a picture of Tony Stark with the definition,” they wrote in the statement.
Sorry, Jeff Bezos. You may be the richest person on Earth, but Tony Stark is probably the most notable.
The Wikipedia definition that accompanies the word on Google seems to be straightforward and certainly applies to our favorite fictional money maker, Tony Stark’s Iron Man.
“A billionaire, in countries that use their short scale number naming system, is the person with a net that worth of at least one billion units of the given currency – usually the major currencies such as the United States dollar, the Euro or the pound sterling.”
Of course, Tony inherited Stark Industries from his father, Howard, who made his money by profiting off arms deals during World War II. Stark kept up with the weapons game until his kidnapping let to the creation of Iron Man and ultimately the dismantling of the company’s weapon sales.
Meanwhile, another Redditor, /u/brycer16, had a brilliant response to the thread. “What about genius, playboy, and philanthropist?” they asked. And while googling those words separately will not get you anywhere. The three words together are synonymous with Tony Stark’s Iron Man.
Even so, if you think Google is just catering to those of us who devote a lot of our Internet time to Marvel, think again. There is no special algorithm here. Even if your Great Aunt Doris googles “billionaire,” she is going to see the handsome mug of Tony Stark stars Robert Downey Jr.
Speaking of Google and Marvel, the 2018 search trends were revealed recently. It showed that Black Panther and Stan Lee were among the top ten searches of the year. Black Panther was also the most searched movie of the year with Avengers: Infinity War trailing behind at number four.
In the meantime, upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films include:
Touching “Avengers: Endgame” Fan Art Imagines Pepper Potts Getting Tony Stark’s Message
After such a long wait, the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame eventually offered fans their first glimpse at the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And it didn’t look pretty at all.
In the opening scene of Endgame trailer, Tony Stark used what was left of his Iron Man armor to record a message. Perhaps they’re his final words before dying in space, meant for his fiancé Pepper Potts. Recently, a piece of fan art from SpdrMnkyXXIII has imagined a tragic followup to this scene, showing Pepper watching Stark’s transmission. Check it out below:
While the trailer of Endgame picks up right where Avengers: Infinity War has left off, some fans are expecting some sort of time jump in the upcoming movie. Especially since Pepper Potts stars Gwyneth Paltrow teased her character would have a child in the official magazine for Avengers: Infinity War.
“Pepper Potts and Tony [Stark] have had a real long journey together,” said Paltrow. “She obviously started as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolved. And now this decade later they get married, then they have a child. And their relationship has evolved in all of the ways that great romances evolve.”
Robert Downey Jr. himself also made it seem like this could be his final go as Tony Stark on the big screen.
“It is this cyclical thing,” he said to News.com.au. “I’d have said when the first Avengers came out: ‘It’s never going to get any better than that. Everybody stop.’ But for me, it’s always about people and opportunities, like the Russos, who I adore.”
The star revealed that he’s eager to go out on a high note. So that he does not want to get complacent when it comes to future projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Everyone said to me it was like a glove that fits so well,” he said. “I’ve to start over every time, but I am doing it with a pretty solid base. I’ve just never wanted to blow it for the last six or seven MCU movies I’ve done by dropping the ball because I made the decision to do it for one more time. So I just want to hang up my jersey before it becomes embarrassing.”
We will see how it all wraps up when Avengers: Endgame premieres in theaters on April 26, 2019.
Marvel Fans Are Hounding NASA to Rescue Tony Stark From Space and the Response
The first trailer for Avengers: Endgame dropped on last Friday, conjuring up quite a lot of emotions for Marvel fans. And it looks like some taking those feels pretty seriously; even NASA is getting in on the conversation.
The Endgame trailer starts with a scene of Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) stuck in a ship in the middle of space. As Tony explained in a message to Pepper Potts, he was running out of food and water days before. And he would probably run out of oxygen the following morning.
While many fans have assumed that Tony Stark will be rescued in some way, and play a role in Endgame’s subsequent plot, the notion of Iron Man being adrift in space has stricken a chord with many fans. Some have even gone a little far. They have been tweeting at the official social media for NASA, asking them to use whatever resources necessary to save Tony Stark.
Here are some of those tweets.
Hello Mr @NASA can you please rescue Tony Stark he's stuck somewhere in outer space and his food and water supply ran out four days ago his oxygen levels are depleting WE DONT KNOW HOW LONG HE HAS BEFORE HE DRIFTS OFF PLEASE pic.twitter.com/nlsISwYAVK

Me, knocking on NASA’s front door and asking if I could borrow a ship to go save Tony Stark pic.twitter.com/TaMr18sspw
— Send air and food to Tony Stark pls marvel (@ClevaChloe) December 7, 2018
Now, the real-world space organization has responded to those requests. NASA also offered Marvel Studios some advice on how to get their Avenger safely home.
Hey @Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark. As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for “@Avengers, we have a problem.” But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man pic.twitter.com/zavXrsPljq
— NASA (@NASA) December 9, 2018
It’s definitely tongue-in-cheek response, in part thanks to the use of “Avengers, we have a problem.” But in a way, it shows not only NASA’s sense of humor but also its willingness to acknowledge the tragic events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It does highlight just how dire of a situation Tony Stark appears to be in, especially since fans do not really know what’s going to happen.
Of course, you can not blame NASA for responding as the Endgame trailer has broken the record for the most views in just one day, teasing what’s to come as the world recovers in the wake of Infinity War.
Although NASA may not be able to extend its reach to the big screen and save Tony Stark, we do have an idea who might be the one to do so. And the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be teaming up for a next battle with the Mad Titan, Thanos.
Avengers: Endgame will officially hit theaters on April 26th, 2019.
