Marvel Legends Figure Confirms the Kree’ Supreme Intelligence in “Captain Marvel”

The Captain Marvel Marvel Legends figures have been a goldmine for new details about the upcoming movie. And now the line is hitting stores. As one figure, in particular, just confirmed that the Kree’ Supreme Intelligence does exist in the film universe.

Thanks to one Twitter post from user @VersionAnaloga you can view below. Fans got an up-close look at the new Captain Marvel figure, including the back of the box descriptions. The Yon-Rogg box, which is believed to be Jude Law character playing in the movie, features a small description on the back that confirms the Kree’ Supreme Intelligence exists in the MCU.

That description reads “leader of the Starforce team, Yon-Rogg is a hero among the Kree and also a key asset to the Supreme Intelligence in the war against the Skrulls.”

It just cements what we believed already. During a previous interview, Jude Law mentioned that his mystery character is “driven by a belief in the divine leadership of the Kree people,” and combined with this that looks to be the Supreme Intelligence.

In the Marvel comics, the Supreme Intelligence started as an object that housed all of the minds of passed great Kree thinkers as well as generals.

After others in regards to Kree figures would die, they’d add their brains to the Supreme Intelligence, continuing the cycle for years. Eventually, the thing is that it developed its own mind and personality. While it never achieved its original purpose (the Kree wanted a Cosmic Cube of their own), the Supreme Intelligence would go on to have a profound effect on Kree culture. And eventually, it ended up ruling the Kree Empire as the Kree worshipped it as an all-knowing being.

Here is another important note: the design looks a bit over the top. That means, it is like a giant green head in a tube. Because of that, it makes sense that Marvel would do something more akin to what they did with Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, turning Ego into a person rather than a giant planet with a face. That still made it into the film. Yet most of the work was done by that point as far as grounding and the like.

Meanwhile, Annette Bening’s mystery character looks perfect for this role. Especially since we see her in what appears to be the Kree headquarters. However, this is just a theory at this point. To be honest, it is a pretty sound one if we say so ourselves.

So, let us know what you’re looking from the Supreme Intelligence in Captain Marvel, in the comments below!

Captain Marvel premieres on March 8, 2019. Other upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies will be hitting theaters. Avengers: Endgame on April 26, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5 this year.

“Captain Marvel:” New Photo of Ronan Arrives

While the countdown to Captain Marvel continues to tick down, fans are ready for their first adventure with the most powerful heroine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The ‘90s set film will feature the returns of many familiar faces, including the intimidating Guardians of the Galaxy villain Ronan, the Accuser of the Kree Empire. Recently, Disney has released a new photo of the character, showing a more comic book-accurate version of the Marvel villain.

You can take the full look at Ronan below.

(Photo: Disney)

Obviously, as we see in the new image, Ronan’s armor incorporates the classic teal colors of the Kree Empire’s Starforce. And it matches more closely with what Carol Danvers and her allies wear in the movie. Moreover, we also catch his face unmarred by the markings of blood he puts on himself in Guardians of the Galaxy. And it shows that this is a less intense version of the character at a different stage in life.

During a set visit, Jonathan Schwartz, the producer of Captain Marvel previously addressed this version of Ronan, played by Lee Pace. He then explained how the character changed between the events of the film as well as Guardians of the Galaxy.

“It is an earlier version of Ronan, who hasn’t become the radical zealot that we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy,” Schwartz said. “So he has his own station in the Kree society, on Hala. And he has his own role to play in the Kree military that interestingly intersects with Starforce.”

While the film doesn’t relate directly to the events of Marvel Studios’ first cosmic movie, there’ll be a through line that fans can follow to see how Ronan becomes the Xander-hating terrorist on at war with the Nova Corps.

“Just like there is a Nick Fury origin story buried in the movie. Buried a little bit deeper is the Ronan origin story,” added Schwartz.

Meanwhile, Carol Danvers also has difficulty navigating her path with the Kree, which will be a major point of the movie.

“I mean, lots of the movie is about Carol Danvers not remembering her human past,” said Schwartz. “When we meet Carol at the beginning of the film, she believes that she’s a Kree, and kind of has been inducted into the army. She is proud as a person. She loves being a Kree. Then over the course of her adventure, she realized there was more to her story than that. So the film kind of becomes her unraveling the root of her own origin, and the root of her own mystery.”

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8.

All the Marvel, DC, Disney, and Star Wars Films Releasing in 2019

The last 2018 was a huge year for movies, especially when it comes to franchises and studios that comic fans adore. Disney, Sony, Fox, Paramount, Marvel Studios, and Warner Bros. all put out big films in the last year. But it appears that 2019 will become even bigger. In the meantime, we have got all the films you need to mark your calendars for in this one handy place.

Before we get to 2019 though, the studios all put some great movies just in December alone, which was packed with geeky goodness. If you are a superhero movie fan, you got Aquaman and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. As for fans of Disney, then you got Emily Blunt’s Mary Poppins Returns. And if you are a Transformers fan, Bumblebee was right up your alley, making it quite a month for fans.

In speaking of recent Aquaman, Warner Bros. only put out one DC film this year, but boy did they make it count. The blockbuster Aquaman has already sailed past the $1 billion marks worldwide and is already to the top-grossing DC movie ever. However, that is not a shabby way to end the year. And in 2019, DC is upping the ante with two films on the slate.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios had the incredibly successful Avengers: Infinity War earlier this year. The film surpassed the $2 billion mark and expectedly stays the same for the even more anticipated Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Actually, Marvel Studios has two movies coming out during the first half of the year, while Sony is following up the massive success of Venom with a new Spider-Man movie.

As for the House of Mouse, it looks as if they’re going to dominate in 2019 just like they did in 2018, with three live-action remakes on the horizon as well as other anticipated projects, both in animation and live-action. So yeah, Disney is probably going to crush it, especially when you consider that whole Star Wars Episode IX is coming at the end of this year.

And 20th Century Fox will soon come home to Disney. However, before they’re completely moved over, Fox still has a few movies up their sleeves.

Now, scroll down 16 headlines to see all the Disney, Marvel, DC, and Star Wars films hitting in 2019!

Title: Dumbo
Studio: Disney

Following the successful line of live-action films from Disney is Dumbo. The movie has Tim Burton putting his stylized touch on the beloved animated classic. If it is anything like the last several remakes of Disney, it should do quite well at the box office.

Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlisted the former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) alongside his children – Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) – to take care of a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him become laughingstock already in a struggling circus. However, when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attacking persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits a peculiar pachyderm for his newest and larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Then Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Collette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt Farrier learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of the dark secrets.”

Next in Warner Bros. is the first DC title of the year in the Zachary Levi led Shazam!. It will be the first time of the character on the big screen. And Warner Bros. is obviously hoping to keep up the momentum from the billion-grossing Aquaman.

Sypnosis: “We all have a superhero inside us, and it takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In the Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one-word ‘SHAZAM!’, this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart – inside a ripped, godlike body – Shazam revels in his adult version by doing what any teen would do with their superpowers: have fun with them! So can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Or can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip the social studies tests? Shazam sets out to test the limit of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he will need to master these powers quickly to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeis Sivana (Strong).”

Title: The New Mutants
Studio: 20th Century Fox

How Nick Fury’s Relationship with Carol Danvers is Different in “Captain Marvel”

When Nick Fury encounters Carol Danvers for the first time in Captain Marvel, he’ll be a younger and less cynical character than the version of Fury that fans saw at the end of Iron Man.

That will also extend to his relationship with Captain Marvel herself, who will become the first superhero Nick Fury has ever met. According to executive producer, Jonathan Schwartz, this means a lot less sarcasm and bluster and even a bit more open-mindedness.

“I think it benefits in the uniqueness by having Carol be the first superhero he has ever encountered or really heard of in his life,” Schwartz spoke to a set visit last year with Comicbook. “She kind of gets to be the window to him for this entire and bigger universe. So, he is a little, a little less of them. I know everything there’s to know. Nick Fury that we see in the later movies, and a little more, perhaps, open to new ideas.”

That’ll lead to some interesting dynamics not only with Carol Danvers but likely also with Agent Phil Coulson. The character worked under Nick Fury in the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and seemingly is one of Fury’s only real friends in the modern-day storyline set 25 years after Captain Marvel or so.

Meanwhile, the promotion for Captain Marvel has been steadily accelerating over the last month or so.

And it’ll continue to do so as the March 8th release date approaches. Still, there is a certain level of hype surrounding the film solely because it is produced by Marvel Studios. But people are most excited for the debut of the first standalone female hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Carol Danvers will be making her first big-screen appearance in Captain Marvel. Though her debut was alluded to at the end of last year’s Avengers: Infinity War in the form of Nick Fury’s pager.

Captain Marvel stars Academy Award-winner Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Lee Pace (Ronan), Djimon Hounsou (Korath). Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Min-Erva), alongside Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace. Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8. Other upcoming MCU movies include Avengers: Endgame on April 26 and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5 this year.

“Captain Marvel” Producer Revealed How They Got Inspired From “Wonder Woman”

Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters this year with a binary bang, but the heroine is not the first to take over Hollywood. It was not long ago that Wonder Woman broke barriers with her solo venture. And it seems that Carol Danvers will be taking cues from her DC Comics predecessor.

Recently, during a visit to the set of Captain Marvel, executive producer Jonathan Schwartz was asked if – and how – Wonder Woman influenced the MCU film. And he had the following to say.

“What’s so great about Wonder Woman was talking to female audience members afterward about how they felt watching the movie. A lot of people I talked to said, ‘I have never felt like that watching a movie before in my entire life. The character resonated [with] me in ways I did not even know that a character could resonate with me.’ That was great to hear, and kind of an amazing thing,” the producer said to Comicbook.

“I think it [Wonder Woman] helped us understand how important movies like that are. So that in terms of making the movie feel distinct, all those movies chart their own courses anyway. I think that means making the film feel distinct, not just from other female-lead movies, but all the other Marvel movies as well, that we try to do in every movie. It was not a new challenge necessarily. But it was the one I think we were extra-excited for because of the nature of what this movie means to people.”

It is no secret that Wonder Woman sat well with both fans and critics upon its release. And now Captain Marvel looks like it will land in the same way.

To date, reactions to the film have still been positive on social network media. And the star behind Captain Marvel, Brie Larson, has become a clear favorite within the MCU already. Still, the actress says she hopes fans will be able to break down Captain Marvel like any other film and not praise it blindly for the sake of female empowerment.

“It does not matter what I make. I really feel firm that art is made to be enjoyed and interpreted. And you will get what you need out of it,” Larson said in a recent interview. “My favorite books I have read many times in life, and they mean something totally different to me every time I read them. Art is not made to be processed and labeled or organized in the way that we do it now. Even I have a hard time with that idea of genre. And we place value based off of, ‘Well, it is really good for this kind of movie.’ What is that even mean? I don’t understand.”

“It will be what it is. And I think there is gonna be a lot there for people to digest and feel,” she continued. “Hopefully it will become the movie that you just want to revisit again and again. As life goes on, it will have more to it. And I just want to make art that lasts. I want to make art you’ll grow with. That’s all.”

So, do you have any preference between Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel? Share with us in the comments below.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Lee Pace (Ronan). Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva). Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), alongside Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel launches on March 8, 2019, while Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on June 5 next year.

“Captain Marvel:” Korath Breaks Down Relationship with Carol Danvers

When Captain Marvel hits theaters in March, it will be showing fans a time period in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has just been glimpsed on the big screen.

Some villains will become heroes, like Korath from the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. Although he aided Ronan in his effort to secure the Power Stone, Korath the Pursuer will become one of Carol Danvers’ allies in the Starforce.

During a visit to the set of Captain Marvel, actor Djimon Hounsou revealed about his character’s relationship with Carol Danvers.

“As far as the story based uniquely on this is concerned. I feel like Carol is the type of person that takes joy at taking the piss at me all the time, cause I am sort of very machine-like, very framed, and driven. I think, the lack of not being so flexible and playful, she takes a piss at that,” said Hounsou.

So it sounds like Korath is not much different from his appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but is not quite a zealot at this point.

While the journey of Korath will play a part in the new movie, it’ll also see his leader in Ronan the Accuser, who will undergo some changes in Captain Marvel.

The producer Jonathan Schwartz previously spoke about Ronan’s role and how he figures into the new Marvel Studios film.

“It is an earlier version of Ronan. He hasn’t become the radical zealot that we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy,” mentioned Schwartz. “So he has his own station in the Kree society, on Hala. And he has his own role to play in the Kree military that interestingly intersects with Starforce.”

Addressing the changes made to Ronan’s character, Schwartz also compared the Kree Accuser’s journey to that of Nick Fury.

“Just like there is a Nick Fury origin story buried in this movie,” the producer said. “Buried a little bit deeper is the origin story of Ronan.”

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Lee Pace (Ronan). Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva), Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto. McKenna Grace, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), alongside Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel premieres on March 8th.

“Captain Marvel” 10 Character Posters Released

Only 50 days left until we can see Captain Marvel finally hit the big screen. And Marvel Studios is helping pass the time a bit with these slick new character posters.

These new posters are absolutely gorgeous, featuring the characters at an upwards left angle with the Hala star as well as the logo towards the bottom. Appearing in the posters are Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, Maria Rambeau, Goose the cat, Yon-Rogg, Annette Bening’s mystery character, alongside Korath, Minn-Evra, Talos, and Phil Coulson.

Ben Mendelsohn starring Talos is sporting his human form here as opposed to his natural Skrull form. He plays the boss of Nick Fury, having already infiltrated SHIELD. As for Bening’s character, she may be the Supreme Intelligence inhuman form, a lot like they handled EGO the Living Planet. But it remains unclear now.

As for Jude Law as Yon-Rogg, it certainly seems like that’s who he is playing. We cannot say for sure. However, we all know he is important to the plot, so for now, we are going with Yon-Rogg.

“Captain Marvel”: Djimon Hounsou Reveals How Korath Is Different From “Guardians of the Galaxy”

While Djimon Hounsou will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Korath the Pursuer in Captain Marvel, the character is completely different from the no-nonsense servant of Ronan the Accuser seen troubling Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Both Lee Pace (Ronan) and Djimon Hounsou will turn up, fighting in the Starforce as part of the Kree-Skrull War. And during a recent interview, Hounsou assured reporters that the similarities basically would end there.

“This is a completely separate story, a standalone story. There’s nothing to do with Guardians other than the fact that some of those characters interact with each other later,” said Hounsou. “Other than that, no, it is very different from Guardians.”

That said, Djimon Hounsou promised that the movie would have a light tone. It also shares some of the sensibilities that made the James Gunn franchise a big hit for Marvel.

“Oh, it is very close,” said Djimon Hounsou, while admitting that his role was more or less shot in one aspect of the movie and not throughout all of it. “There is a bit of a kind of humor within the unit of the Starforce. It is quite nice humor. I am guessing the whole film will have a light outlook on the material.”

It seems like that’s Djimon Hounsou’s lot in comic book movie life.

Later this year, Djimon Hounsou will also appear in the equally-light-hearted Shazam! playing his role of the eponymous wizard who grants him the powers to Billy Batson. As many comic book fans know, the superhero Shazam was initially known as Captain Marvel. And Marvel Studios themselves only created the character by that name decades later when the publisher who owned Shazam before DC allowed the trademark to lapse.

Meanwhile, promotion for Captain Marvel has been steadily accelerating over the last month or so. It will continue to do that when its release date approaches in March. There’s a certain level of hype surrounding the film solely as it’s a product of Marvel Studios’ production. But most people are excited for the debut of the MCU’s first solo female superhero.

The Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson, starring as Carol Danvers, will make her first big screen appearance in Captain Marvel. Though, her own debut was alluded to at the end of Avengers: Infinity War in the form of Nick Fury’s pager.

Besides Jackson and Gregg, the movie will also star Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Lee Page, and more.

Captain Marvel launches in theaters on March 8 this year.

“Captain Marvel” In Two Months Teaser Trailer Released

The newest era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting closer and closer.

The new trailer for Captain Marvel has made its way online, highlighting the fact that the film’s release is exactly two months away.

Check it out below.

The new teaser does not show any new footage. But it does a pretty good job of getting people hyped for the release of Captain Marvel. With the tickets recently going on sale on Fandango, alongside a slew of new footage and posters debuting on Monday, it is just the latest content for the Marvel Studios blockbuster that fans have been treated to this week.

Captain Marvel was not the first Marvel superhero to hit the big screen in the MCU. But there is a reason the studio is setting her origin before Iron Man.

The film that launched the MCU was none other than Jon Favreau’s Iron Man. However, Captain Marvel is set in the mid-90s, which takes place before Tony Stark ever created his armor. Captain Marvel will see Carol Danvers coming to terms with her human and superman heritage, as the Kree-Skrull War wages on in the 90s.

During an interview, executive producer Jonathan Schwartz addressed the reason why Captain Marvel is really the first superhero of the MCU.

“Funny, really honest, I do not know exactly when. Early in the process of development, I think we seized on the idea of setting in the 90s is a way to kind of let the character carve out her own space in the cinematic universe. And it also gives her a lot of thematic weight and significance to the universe,” said Schwartz. “It is more or less this adventure that’s going to inspire a lot of what we see in the MCU. And kind of being able to see these things in the movie that blossom in other films, and already have blossomed in other movies is one of the big excitement.”

Furthermore, it gave the studio a chance to set a superhero during the 90s. And that’s a period of time that has not been explored yet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“And then also the idea of the 90s as a period which is something I don’t think we have been able to explore a lot of. It is far enough in the rearview mirror that it was ‘Oh yeah, the 90s. I have memories of that era.’ But I have not seen it represented much on film. So being able to play in that sandbox was exciting. And doing things like recreating a blockbuster was super fun to walk through. That made me miss physical media in a way I did not expect,” Schwartz said.

So, even though Captain Marvel is the first superhero of the MCU, she’ll be meeting the Avengers for the first time in upcoming Avengers: Endgame.

Captain Marvel launches on March 8 this year.

“Captain Marvel:” Three Brand New Posters Featuring Carol Danvers Released

With tickets for Captain Marvel eventually on sale, Marvel Studios has released three brand-new posters for the highly anticipated film, with two of them featuring Carol Danvers in her iconic full-on mohawk helmet.

As for celebrating the launch of ticket sales, IMAX, Dolby Cinema, alongside RealD 3D have unveiled three exclusive new Captain Marvel posters. You can view all three in their stunning glory below.

First up is the poster from IMAX.

Carol Danvers is nothing short of electrifying in this image. It manages to truly capture the cosmic essence of the feature, while not losing focus on the iconic heroine as well as her incredible strength.

In case you need a reason to watch the movie in IMAX, the company makes sure to remind you that IMAX screens allow “up to 26% more picture.”

Dolby Cinema is taking a more comic book approach.

Using Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel color scheme as a backdrop, the image opts to focus on her costume as a whole, with her past as an Air Force pilot as well. It is simple, yet perfectly captures the fan-favorite character all at once.

And seemingly, the most interesting of the three posters, however, belongs to RealD 3D.

That’s because of how simple it is, choosing to focus on Carol Danvers herself, rather than on the battlesuit – with full-on mohawk helmet. From the image, Carol is not flying or preparing to punch holes in the sky. Instead, she is just looking in an entirely different direction, but the poser still manages to ooze her power. And that’s pretty dang impressive.

Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. From a script from Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Nicole Perlman, Meg LeFauve, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. The movie stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce. Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson. Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Gemma Chan as Minn-Evra, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, McKenna Grace as young Carol, Algenis Perez Soto, and Annette Bening in an undisclosed role.

Captain Marvel premieres on March 8 this year.

New Image of “Captain Marvel” Charging Up Releases

A new Captain Marvel image has surfaced online. And it shows Carol Danvers charging up to take down the unfortunate person who decided to pick a fight with her.

The new image comes from Luma Pictures, the Visual Effects Studio currently working on Captain Marvel. A version of this image previously appeared on the EW cover but it is darker. That allows us to get closer to the detail in her hands as well as the gauntlets when she charges up to unleash some energy blasts.

You can see the photo below.

This is also part of the effect that accompanies Captain Marvel going into Binary Mode while her power is truly unleashed. In the books, she did not achieve this until she was experimented on by the Brood and the X-Men saved her. But we doubt that the Brood will be making an appearance in the movie. Still, we are excited to see Carol regaining her Binary powers in some way. And we can’t wait to see how powerful her abilities are when she unleashes them.

When the announcement of Brie Larson taking on the role of Captain Marvel met with immense positivity, it took her a bit before she could accept to play the part.

“I’ve never seen myself doing something like this. Mostly because I like being anonymous,” she told EW. “I like disappearing into the characters. And I always feel like if I was out in the public eye too much, it potentially limits me in the future.”

Brie Larson also did not feel like much of an action star.

“I was an introvert with asthma before this [Captain Marvel] movie,” she revealed. “I really thought when they hired me. ‘I’m the worst choice for an action movie’. And I did not know that I had a little Keanu Reeves in me! Who knew?”

Eventually, though she did take on the part, she is thrilled about bringing this character to the big screen.

“Just seeing a character who says how she feels and says what is on her mind and does not let people stand in her way is incredibly empowering,” said Larson.

Captain Marvel stars the Academy Award® winner Brie Larson (Carol Danvers), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou (Korath). Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva), Lee Pace (Ronan), Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), with Clark Gregg (Phill Coulson), and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel is in theaters on March 8th, 2019. Other upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films include Avengers: Endgame on April 26, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5 this year.

Brand New “Captain Marvel” Movie Poster Revealed

Recently, Marvel Studios has just released a new poster for Captain Marvel.

The Captain Marvel poster will be exclusively at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Brazil this weekend.

Check it out below.

(Photo: Marvel Studios)

This weekend, Marvel Studios will be showing off its next film at CCXP. Captain Marvel’s costume is on display, and footage from the movie was unveiled during a panel.

Following the events of the world of heroines, Captain Marvel will be the first Marvel Studios movie headlined by a female superhero, which has drawn some comparisons to Black Panther earlier this year being the studio’s first film led by a black hero. During a visit to the Captain Marvel suit, star Brie Larson discussed those comparisons and high expectations.

“I do not know how it’s any different. To be honest, I do not want it to feel different,” she explained. “I am kind of over the “first female blah blah blah,” and “wow, maybe a woman can actually do the same things the dudes can do – what a crazy concept!” I feel like the more we talk about it, the more we’ll perpetuate the myth that it is an impossible task. No, if it was not like that before, it’s because it was wrong. That was just wrong. Now we are just doing what’s natural.

“It will be what it is. And I think there is gonna be a lot there for people to digest and feel,” Larson continued. “Hopefully, it can be the film that you’ll want to revisit again and again. As life goes on, it will have more to it. And I just want to make art that lasts. I want to make art that you can grow with. That’s all.”

Captain Marvel set in the 1990s tells the origin story of Carol Danvers, the film’s titular heroine. Carol Danvers finds herself caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races that threatens to turn Earth into its next battlefield.

Captain Marvel stars the Academy Award® winner Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, Ben Mendelsohn, Lee Pace, Gemme Chan, Lashana Lynch, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

The film’s directors are Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, from a screenplay written by Boden & Fleck and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer. Captain Marvel is based on a story by Nicole Perlman and Joe Shrapnel & Anna Waterhouse. Producers Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

Captain Marvel will hit theaters on March 8th, 2019.

New ‘Captain Marvel’ Trailer Has Released

As much as Marvel fans are looking forward to Avengers 4, there is still one more movie we have to see before that explosive tale arrives.

Captain Marvel is rewinding the clock to the 1990s to tell Carol Danvers’ origin story. After the teaser trailer back in September, now a brand new trailer for the penultimate Phase 3 film has arrived.

Check the video below!

Starting to throw back in the Captain Marvel teaser trailer…

There was a moment when Carol Danvers was aboard a subway train and punched an old lady in the face. This had become an instant meme, and naturally, it seems like this elderly citizen was a Skrull in disguise. Sure enough, we also saw this fight continue at the start of the new Captain Marvel trailer. Unless that old woman has been working out and eating her vitamins, she’s definitely a Skrull.

From there, the new trailer delves into Carol Danvers’ time with Nick Fury on Earth, as well as her time among the Kree. As Annette Bening’s mysterious character explained, Carol was taken in by the Kree after almost dying. Having lost her memories, she was transformed into a Kree warrior. Well, a noble warrior hero. But having returned to Earth, the time has come for Carol Danvers to learn about her past life and who she truly is.

As if uncovering long-buried memories was not so difficult, Carol Danvers will also have to contend with the shapeshifting Skrulls on Earth which was led by Talos – who we saw both in green and human form. However, that’s not to say that the Kree are all angels.

Late last year, there was a rumor that Jude Law would join Captain Marvel playing Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, the Kree protagonist who was indirectly responsible for Carol Danvers gaining her powers in the comics. Previously identified as Carol’s Kree mentor, Jude Law’s character has an edge to him. And if the rumor about this individual is correct, then Carol will likely find herself coming to blows with him, perhaps towards the end of the movie.

However, all that pales by comparison to the end of the new Captain Marvel trailer.

From there, we see that Nick Fury, who still has two working eyes, is a cat person. That’s just great. And it’s also worth noting that if Carol’s cat, Goose, is anything like his comic book counterpart, there is more to him than meets the eye.

Now along with the two first trailers dropping, we are getting a sense of just how epic this story will be, in addition to how impressive Captain Marvel’s abilities truly are in comparison with the rest of the MCU.

That’s something Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had stressed during an interview recently. And it’s seemingly a huge reason why she could turn the tide against Thanos in upcoming Avengers 4.

“She’s more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far,” Feige said to EW. “So that alone tells you that there is a reason that Nick hit that button at the end [of Avengers: Infinity War]. When he realized that they’re being up against something far bigger than they ever had been up against before. And having her on the side is hopefully going to change the balance of power in a way that they desperately need.”

Captain Marvel following Carol Danvers as she became one of the universe’s most powerful superheroes when Earth got stuck in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel will be an all-new adventure from a previous period in the Marvel Cinematic Universe history that we’ve never seen.

Captain Marvel stars the Academy Award® winner Brie Larson (Carol Danvers), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva), Lee Pace (Ronan), Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), with Clark Gregg (Phill Coulson), and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019. In the meantime, Avengers 4 will launch on May 3, 2019. And Spider-Man: Far From Home follows on July 5, 2019.

‘Avengers 4’ Trailer Finally Drops a Release Date, After Captain Marvel Trailer

After an incredibly long wait, is it finally happening? And even more incredible amount of speculation, we now have a date for the first Avengers 4 trailer:

This Wednesday morning, December 5th.

That does put a smile on our faces. To be clear, Marvel has yet to announce the Avengers 4 trailer date or time officially, but it has been confirmed by several sources – including SlashFilm, SuperBroMovies, and MCU Cosmic.

It sounds like Avengers 4 trailer should drop on Good Morning America on ABC, which is a part of the Disney/Marvel family. Still, that’s unconfirmed. But get your butt up early!

UPDATE: Avengers 4 trailer was reportedly pushed back, due to President George H.W. Bush’s funeral. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, Marvel did confirm that Captain Marvel trailer will be coming tomorrow night. They shared a new full poster:

Earlier tonight, a Twitter user has also shared a video of what they claimed is a television spot that has been running on their local evening news. The video includes clips of footage that were in the teaser trailer, before revealing that “Trailer World Premiere” could be on-air tomorrow during halftime.

These clips include a wide shot of an airport’s hangar before we catch Samuel L. Jackon’s Nick Fury walking down a hallway. The teaser wrapped up of images of Carol Danvers’ first starting to glow before the end of the teaser showed her going full binary, as previously seen.

According to Marvel Studio boss Kevin Feige, Larson’s take on Carol Danvers would help create the most powerful character ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“She’s more powerful than any character we have introduced thus far,” said Feige. “So that alone tells you that there was a reason Nick hit that button at the end [of Infinity War] when he realized that they were up against something far bigger than they had ever been before. And having her on the side is hopefully going to change the balance of power in a way that they desperately need.”

Be sure to tune, so you don’t miss the Captain Marvel trailer release tomorrow during ESPN’s Monday Night Football!

Is the Avengers 4 trailer really coming to us, after these long days for the countdown?

Fans have been waiting for Avengers 4 trailer with bated breath. Many of those expected it to drop last week at the same time the Avengers: Infinity War trailer had dropped. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had said we would get the trailer toward the end of this year, after the first promotion for Captain Marvel. So, if this plays out as currently advertised, the Avengers 4 trailer will follow just two days after more Captain Marvel promotion.

Captain Marvel will hit theaters on March 8th, 2019. Avengers 4 follows in the U.S. on May 3rd, 2019. Since they are coming out less than two months apart, it’s fitting that Marvel will promote two blockbusters together. It’s like they are fraternal twins. We all know Carol Danvers’ story will have a huge impact on Avengers 4. And we can’t wait till it all gets started. Excelsior!
